My job: rebuild an existing app with 200.000 active users in Unity.
When I joined
Whow Games 2020, my task was to rebuild the whitelabel solution Jackpot.de with all its 10
derivatives, shipped on Android & iOS.
Previously developed in Solar2D (formerly Corona Labs), I teamed up with one of the senior
developers who knew the project best. In this team of two we designed the core project, my
main tasks focused on: app structure, asset
management, render pipeline & scene management as well as implementing the actual features
themselves.
As we reached a functional and solid project base, more developers from the
old team joined us to make the transition,
in the end we were a team of 8. Later on my tasks also include onboarding new colleagues,
solving technical challenges like performance improvements, app-size, new core-systems &
keeping in touch with Unitys core support. I'm
also known for creating editor scripts and automations to reduce redundant and manual work.
We reached our goal within 2 years and 2 month, features were partially developed
simultaneously (Solar2D & Unity).
